Jimmy Page, Jethro Tull and of course George Harrison fell in love with the sound of the sitar, but it took them countless hours of practice to master playing it. Luckily, it won't take quite as much effort with the Danelectro Baby Sitar, as you can play it like you would a regular guitar - it's even tuned the same! The special Gotoh sitar bridge creates that sizzling tone that's so indicative of the original Indian instrument.
Danelectro Baby Sitar with twangy sound
Just like all Danelectro guitars, the Baby Sitar is equipped with a lipstick pickup. Along with the round maple hollow body, this pickup helps create the twangy sound that Danelectro's original sitar introduced back in 1968. Finally, the headstock has the same familiar Thermometer-style headstock as the Electric Sitar from the sixties, while the hardware and overall construction have been greatly improved!
